20 June 2022 - Singapore-based digital currency payment solutions platform Triple-A receives funding as the first investee of Insignia Ventures Partners’ Moonshot Fellowship, the Southeast Asia venture capital firm’s program to invest in and support ventures building important infrastructures and laying the foundations for the still-nascent web3 ecosystem. This funding is part of a US$4M round led by zVentures, Razer’s corporate venture arm.

This round unlocks strategic opportunities for Triple-A, including greater access to Razer’s gaming community as a key vertical for the digital currencies payments platform. Then there is also Triple-A’s inclusion into the Moonshot Fellowship, where, in addition to receiving funding, Triple-A becomes part of a community of fellow web3 ventures in the region receiving shared support in navigating the challenges of scaling in emerging markets.

Triple-A is founded by Eric Barbier, a repeat entrepreneur with a proven track record of building successful, sustainable fintech companies. He shares, “We are honored to be the inaugural investee of Insignia Ventures’ Moonshot Fellowship, and recognize the importance of this program to support startups building important solutions and infrastructure for the web3 ecosystem.”

Digital currencies wallet adoption and usage have ballooned massively especially in Southeast Asia, where for example the Philippines has more digital currencies wallets than ewallets. Triple-A is filling a market gap by allowing businesses to pay and get paid in digital currencies without the hassle and risk of having digital currencies on their balance sheets. Businesses can increase revenues by tapping into 300m+ digital currency users in a regulated and compliant manner.

Triple-A is the first digital currencies payments company which earned the Digital Payment Token licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), allowing the company to provide end-to-end digital currency payment services for businesses in full compliance with global regulatory standards. They are also one of five startups selected for the Visa Accelerator Programme in APAC, and were also selected as the global digital currency payment gateway for Binance Pay

“With their fully regulation compliant, business user-friendly, and comprehensive digital currencies payment solutions, Triple-A has been meeting the growing demand for interoperability and infrastructure to support business transactions across Southeast Asia’s web3 economies. This partnership with Eric and his team aligns with the Moonshot Fellowship’s goal to bring greater maturity to the region’s fast-growing web3 ecosystem and we are privileged to be part of this journey early on,” says Insignia Ventures Partners founding managing partner Yinglan Tan.
