We grabbed a quick moment with Kara Wullum, Triple-A’s Product Manager, for a brisk, fun dive into her work. While we didn’t go full Vogue with 73 questions, our chat offered a glimpse into her strategy for client solutions and the importance of collaboration in achieving our business goals. Get to know Kara and her key role at Triple-A in this article!
The Journey to Triple-A
I joined Triple-A as a Product Manager 4 months ago, and I have already had the chance to work on several interesting projects. Before joining Triple-A, I worked in payments at a fintech company, and transitioning to the crypto space has been an exciting opportunity to apply my skills in such an exciting field.
The Role as a Product Manager
My role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, gathering and prioritizing product requirements, and ensuring that our solutions meet market needs and align with company goals.
The Eye-opener
The most eye-opening aspect I’ve learned about being a Product Manager is the depth of cross-functional collaboration required. It’s not just about managing the product; it’s about orchestrating various teams and stakeholders towards a common goal.
The Motivation
The most rewarding part is seeing a product go from concept to launch and knowing it positively impacts users. Being involved in each stage, from initial planning to the final release, provides me a sense of accomplishment. It’s satisfying to see the product being used and hear feedback from users about how it helps them.
Quick Takes
Life Outside of Work
I’ve recently been exploring creating and selling digital templates online, specifically resume templates and investment trackers. It’s a neat side project where I get to create products that help users, test my product instincts and see what clicks with customers. It’s a fun little side hustle that keeps me creatively charged outside of my PM gig.
A Piece of Advice
Realize that only about a handful of people truly care about what you do with your life. Many people find that to be a really depressing thought, but I find it to be quite freeing. People are absorbed with their own lives and concerns, so don’t waste time worrying about what other people think of your life choices, cause chances are they don’t. Do whatever is the right thing for you.
A Day in Another Role
If I could switch jobs with anyone else at the company for a day, I’d choose to be one of our software developers. I’ve always admired their ability to turn lines of code into something tangible and impactful for our users.
